Modern Olympics Museum

By far, the Modern Olympics Museum in Olympia has been one of the coolest museums I have been to . The museum shows the progression of the modern Olympics from 1896 to present day. What shocked me was all the different memorbila and historic items from the actual medals of certain games to stamps, posters, and pictures. It is a small museum, but we spent a good hour wondering around and admiring everything.

Mexico City 1968 (My favorite poster is bottom right)
Lots and lots of pins
The individual booths about each Olympic Game
Seen this before? Panathinkaiko Stadium in Athens.
Moscow's Mascot...very cute (1980).
The torches from 1992-2006
Medals from Seoul 1988
Montreal 1976

Lots of swimming references

Rome 1960

  1. Wow David I am really impressed with your consistent posts. I'm supposed to be studying right now but I took a quick break to see what I had missed in the past day and realized I am quite behind. I might need to take a break tomorrow at work and catch up. It looks like the Olympic Museum was amazing. So much neat history to learn and see! I especially like the Moscow poster...I'm sure you took it for me since I was born in 1980 :)
Love you lots! Hope you are having fun (i'm not sure how you couldn't be)
