Medersa Ben Youssef

The old mosque school, Medersa Ben Youseef, is pretty impressive in regards to the detail and size of the place. We explored the school for about an hour, and it was pretty cool imaging what it must have been like being a student here.

  1. David -- Today we received 11 postings on your blog, ending up in Marrakech. The photos of Marrakech were really fun for us, since we were there in November, 22 years ago. Several of your pix were of places we had seen. Have you ever seen such a mysterious place as the Djema-al-Fna square? Snake charmers, outdoor theater, acrobats, the works! Your hotel appeared to be an experience all by itself. Ours was a chain hotel and, while comfortable, had none of the charm of yours. The names of the other towns you will visit are new to us ... except for Fes. They have a tannery in their median also ... but I think it looks and smells much the same as the one in Marrakech. You are having a once in a liftime experience. I'm glad you are documenting it so well. You'll want to review all this for years to come.
